Jiro Makes Me Dream Of Sushi
There has been a collective sigh of reverence within the food community and beyond at the mention of David Galeb’s Jiro Dreams Of Sushi which Matt and I admittedly could not relate to as we had yet to see the documentary nearly a year after it’s release. Blasphemy.
However after our indulgent sushi dining experience last week at Los Angeles’ only two Michelin star restaurant Urasawa, we could be left in the dark no longer.

Best Snack Ever
RECIPE:
12 Squash Blossoms
1 Recipe Stuffing
1 Recipe Tempura Batter
VEGETARIAN STUFFING:
1 cup burrata
1 cup ricotta
1 cup bechamel
1 T chopped chives
1 T chopped basil
juice + zest from one lemon
salt + pepper
gently mix all ingredients together
MEAT STUFFING:
Cook down some leftover braised meat (such as short ribs) until is has absorbed all it’s juices.

I drank juice for dinner every night for a week to allow room for the 30 courses we were about to consume at Urasawa, the famed two Michelin star, cost prohibitive private dining room just off Rodeo Drive, because I knew this was a once in a lifetime experience where I did not want to regret turning dishes away.
